WEIGHT-LOSS SPECIALIST®
The Academy’s 100-Hour, Weight-Loss Specialist® (W.L.S.®),
Home-Study Certification Program is a professional training, designed to teach you the theory and practical applications of weight-loss, that can help anyone achieve better health and a slimmer appearance. Our Weight-Loss Specialist® program can help prepare you to be a weight-loss consultant and is a great certification for massage therapist, spa personnel, exercise instructors, personal trainers, coaches, nutritionists and medical professionals.

Our Weight-Loss Specialist® program can help prepare you to be a weight-loss consultant and is a great certification for massage therapist, spa personnel, exercise instructors, personal trainers, coaches, nutritionists and medical professionals.
As in all of our Home-Study Programs, the student communicates with his or her teacher by e-mail. The student is sent a series of testing materials and assignments that are completed and returned to the Academy for grading by our expert instructors. Home-Study students are also afforded the optional opportunity to attend a weight-loss seminar here at the school. Local, Weight-Loss Specialist, Home-Study students (or) students who don't mind traveling, are welcome to attend a weight-loss seminar free of charge.
COURSE DESCRIPTION, TUITION AND SEMINAR DATES:
The Academy's Weight-Loss Specialist® training covers many aspects of safe and effective weight-loss, including:
Healthy nutrition and lifestyle reference manual; obesity health effects;
low-fat, low-carbohydrate, high-protein, high-fiber and exchange system diets; dieting and nutritional deficiencies; low glycemic index dieting; calculating calorie needs, calculating calorie expenditure; aerobic exercise and weight-loss; body mass index and metabolism assessment; vegetarian low-fat dieting, vegetarian low-carb dieting; the 40-30-30 diet; thermogenic weight-loss aids; nutritional, amino acid and herbal weight-loss aids; weight-loss anatomy and physiology, client assessment and recommendation tools; practitioner jurisprudence; practice building strategies.

Upon successful completion of the program, the student will be awarded the
Academy’s 100-Hour, Weight-Loss Specialist® (W.L.S.®) Diploma.

HOW TO ENROLL IN A HOME-STUDY PROGRAM
Upon acceptance of your application (we will contact you by e-mail), all home-study applicants must send a copy of their High School, G.E.D., Vocational School or College diploma (your school transcript is also acceptable) in order to meet New Jersey's vocational school entrance requirements. When we have received all pertinent paperwork, we will send you your enrollment forms. For applicants who do not have a High School, G.E.D., Vocational School or College diploma, a T.A.B.E test can be taken.
