SPORTS NUTRITION SPECIALIST®
The Academy’s 100-Hour, Sports Nutrition Specialist® (S.N.S.®), Home-Study Certification Program is a professional training, designed to teach you the theory and practical applications of sports nutrition, that can help anyone achieve optimal performance. Our Sports Nutrition Specialist® program can help prepare you to be a sports nutrition consultant and is a great certification for exercise instructors, personal trainers, coaches and nutritionists.
As in all of our Home-Study Programs, the student communicates with his or her teacher by e-mail. The student is sent a series of testing materials and assignments that are completed and returned to the Academy for grading by our expert instructors. Home-Study students are also afforded the optional opportunity to attend a sports nutrition seminar here at the school. Local, Sports Nutritionist Specialist, Home-Study students (or) students who don't mind traveling, are welcome to attend a sports nutrition seminar free of charge.
COURSE DESCRIPTION, TUITION AND SEMINAR DATES:
Our Sports Nutrition Specialist® training addresses the unique nutritional needs of the athlete. Concepts from diet and nutritional supplements to anabolic steroids and ergogenic aids are taught. The student learns how to optimize an athlete’s performance potential and to stimulate growth and repair of the musculoskeletal, nervous, and cellular energy systems.
Sports nutrition concepts include: Calculating calorie, protein, carbohydrate and fat needs, calculating calorie expenditure, energy systems and fuels, nutrients and energy production, digestion, absorption and elimination, carbohydrate loading, sports drinks, weight-loss, weight-gain, glycemic index eating, protein drinks, performance and recovery supplements, supplementation for muscle building, endurance and strength, vegetarian sports nutrition, herbs, competition nutrition, sport specific nutrition, etc.
Upon successful completion of the program, the student will be awarded the
Academy’s 100-Hour, Sports Nutrition Specialist® (S.N.S.®) Diploma.

HOW TO ENROLL IN A HOME-STUDY PROGRAM
Upon acceptance of your application (we will contact you by e-mail), all home-study applicants must send a copy of their High School, G.E.D., Vocational School or College diploma (your school transcript is also acceptable) in order to meet New Jersey's vocational school entrance requirements. When we have received all pertinent paperwork, we will send you your enrollment forms. For applicants who do not have a High School, G.E.D., Vocational School or College diploma, a T.A.B.E test can be taken.
